Pressed flowers don’t only preserve one of nature’s most beautiful gifts, but they’re also perfect for adorning just about any project, whether it be for use in the home, on accessories, featured on ornaments and so much more. Once your work is completely dry, put it inside your picture frame.

How to make pressed flowers in glass. The following projects can take 5 minutes, or 40 minutes, depending on how complex you want to make it. Attach again your frame’s mirror and back stand. Place a book on top to flatten the flowers and make them easier to iron. Pressed flowers can last a long time, especially when properly sealed, so try them on paper, glass, wood, or coated in resin. Make sure you don’t use any water or steam features.
Once you’re done gluing all the pressed flowers in your design, let it sit and get dry for an hour or so in a cool, dry place with good air ventilation. Place your flowers between two pieces of parchment paper. Trim plants with scissors if necessary.
Drop the flower into the glue on the glass. Wash it in the dishwasher or by hand to remove fingerprints and residue. After pressing your flowers a couple of weeks between the pages of a book (make sure they’re completely dry), use a pair of tweezers to remove them and start carefully playing around with a composition to put them into your frame.
One thing to note is that flowers with naturally flat faces are the easiest to press. You can also create your own flower press by fastening a couple of pieces of plywood together with adjustable handle screws. Carefully pick up the pressed flower with tweezers and center it over the glue.
Immediatley, apply a second coat. Now place your pressed flowers onto the top layer. Pick up the flowers with the tweezers and use a toothpick to place a small spot of glue on the back of a flower.
Apply a small amount of jeweler’s glue to one pane of glass in the area where you plan to place the pressed flowers. Brush a thin layer of modpodge onto the coaster. Gather stems or leaves from your favourite plant and dry them in a flower press, or use a thick book.
A few drops of glue in the center of the flower placement are all that you need for this project. For your piece’s final touch, firmly attach or install again your picture frame’s securing screws or tabs, mirror. Brush on a generous layer of modpodge to cover the entirety of the pressed flowers on the coaster.
Place flowers in a clean vase with water and flower food, or a teaspoon of sugar. Glue the flower onto the paper. Add a thin coat of mod podge on the top of the flowers.
You only need to hydrate your flowers for a few hours. Paint a thin coat of mod podge on the glass with a sponge brush. Wildflower frames makes beautiful gifts, and it's a lovely way of displaying wedding flowers after the the big day.
